An online session will take place on 19 October to emphasize the link between cultural heritage and creative industries that can foster intercultural dialogue and peacebuilding in the sub-region and enable young people to use their innovative and creative ideas to harness tangible and intangible cultural heritage to build peaceful and sustainable societies.Today, creative industries are a powerful driver for knowledge, creativity and cultural identity. And therefore, it is important to find a compromise where young people, historians, archaeologists and creative industry experts can connect for a sustainable exchange of knowledge and use cultural heritage as a tool for peace.
As part of the online session, young participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with key experts from various creative fields of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as learn their experience of actualization of cultural heritage in the modern world.
This online session is part of the 2021 Nanjing Peace Forum, co-hosted by UNESCO Beijing Office, the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, the Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government, and the Nanjing Municipal Government.
